Incoloy 825 is highly resistant to corrosion. It has a high nickel content, sufficient to resist chloride ion stress corrosion cracking, and a very stable austenite structure. The levels of molybdenum and copper enable the alloy to resist reducing agents and acids. Chromium gives resistance to oxidising conditions, such as nitric acid solutions, nitrates and oxidising salts. The alloy is titanium stabilised to resist pitting and intergranular attack after fabrication, particularly welding, which includes heating in the critical sensitisation temperature range (650°C – 760°C).
lncoloy 825 is an austenitic nickel-iron-chromium-molybdenum-copper alloy containing high levels of chromium, nickel, copper and molybdenum to provide high levels of corrosion resistance to both moderately oxidizing and moderately reducing environments. This balance of alloying elements grants this alloy exceptional resistance to both chloride stress corrosion cracking, as well as crevice corrosion and general corrosion. It is the high level of nickel in combination with the amount of molybdenum and copper in this nickel alloy produces substantially improved corrosion resistance in a corrosive environment such as reducing environments compared to stainless steel. The addition of titanium in this alloy also helps to stabilize the alloy against intergranular corrosion. Chloride stress corrosion cracking is a type of localised intergranular corrosion on materials that are put under tensile strength, in high temperatures and in an environment that includes oxygen and chloride ions such as seawater.
The Incoloy 825 Round Bar is popular for its high resistance in many chemically corrosive environments. The Incoloy 825 Round Bar is primarily known for providing excellent resistance to crevice corrosion, pitting, stress corrosion cracking, and intergranular corrosion. The presence of chromium in the Inconel 825 round bar improves its resistance against various oxidizing salts, nitrates, and nitric acids. Proper heat treating the titanium-based Nickel Alloy 825 Rod helps to stabilize it against intergranular corrosion sensitization.
Inconel 825 Alloy Round Bar is an austenitic-ferritic nickel-chromium alloy. It offers excellent resistance to various corrosive media, including sulfuric and phosphoric acids, seawater, and acetic and formic acids. The metal also exhibits resistance to crevice corrosion, pitting corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking in chloride solutions. Its chemical composition consists of Nickel (60 - 65%), Iron (22% - 26%), Chromium (19% - 23%), Manganese (0.50%), Molybdenum (2 – 3%) and traces of Titanium, Aluminum and Niobium. With the addition of these materials, the properties of the Incoloy UNS N08825 Hot Rolled Bar has been enhanced to a certain extent. For instance, the content of its primary alloyant i.e. nickel in Incoloy 8825 Polished Bar is sufficient for resistance against chloride ion stress related corrosion cracking.
The addition of titanium in Incoloy 825 Din 2.4858 Cold Drawn Bar serves the alloy along with an appropriate heat treatment. This heat treatment in combination with the added titanium helps to stabilize the Alloy 825 Nickel Bright Bar against sensitization to intergranular corrosion. The resistance of Incoloy 825 Nickel Alloy Square Bar against general and localized corrosion under a diverse set of conditions gives the metal a broad sense of usefulness. Applications of the Incoloy 825 Nickel Forged Bar include their use in various industries such as chemical processing, pollution control, production of acid, pickling operations, oil and gas recovery and nuclear fuel reprocessing, as well as handling of radioactive wastes.

Inconel 825 Round Bars are notorious for their ability to withstand high temperatures and corrosive environments, making them ideal for use in industries such as chemical processing, oil and gas, and nuclear power. However, to maintain their impressive properties, proper heat treatment is essential. Heat treatment is a process that involves heating and cooling a material to alter its physical and mechanical properties. In the case of Inconel 825, heat treatment can increase its strength, ductility, and resistance to corrosion. Without proper heat treatment, Inconel 825 Round Bars may fail to perform as expected in harsh environments, potentially leading to safety hazards and costly repercussions. Therefore, it is crucial to adhere to the recommended heat treatment guidelines to ensure the longevity and reliability of Inconel 825 Round Bars.
Cold-forming properties and practices are essentially the same for Incoloy alloy 825 Round Bars as for Inconel alloy 600. Although work-hardening rate is somewhat less than for the common grades of austenitic stainless steels, it is still relatively high. Forming equipment should be well powered and strongly built to compensate for the increase in yield strength with plastic deformation.
Incoloy 825 alloy round bars find extensive use in several industrial sectors, like power generation, chemical processing, pharmaceuticals, oil and gas processing, and food processing industries. At high concentrations, sulfuric acid can corrode steel pipes. However, Incoloy 825 alloy round bars provide the necessary corrosion resistance, making them an ideal choice for the industry. Its excellent corrosion resistance has made it valuable in the oil and gas industry, where hydrogen sulfide (H2S) is a common contaminant. It is a favoured material for seawater and marine applications due to its excellent resistance to cracking, pitting, and crevice corrosion.
