Incoloy 800 is a nickel-iron-chromium superalloy designed for high-temperature and corrosive environments. It belongs to the family of "Incoloy" alloys and is standardized under UNS N08800. Incoloy 800 has good strength and excellent resistance to oxidation and carburization in high-temperature atmospheres. Alloy 800 has excellent resistance to stress corrosion cracking in chloride and high-temperature and high-pressure water, so it is used to manufacture stress corrosion cracking resistance equipment.

Incoloy 800 Properties

Excellent Oxidation Resistance: Performs exceptionally well in continuous service up to about 1100°F (593°C) and intermittently up to 1800°F (982°C) in air. Forms a protective chromium oxide scale.

Good Carburization and Nitridation Resistance: Resists attack in carburizing and nitriding furnace atmospheres better than many stainless steels.

Good Sulfidation Resistance: Resists sulfur-bearing atmospheres like refinery environments.

High-Temperature Strength: Maintains good mechanical strength and creep resistance at elevated temperatures.

Corrosion Resistance: Resists corrosion by

Aqueous corrosion.
Chloride stress corrosion cracking—significantly better than 300-series stainless steels.
Nitric acid, phosphoric acid, and organic acids.
Alkaline solutions.
Steam and steam/hydrocarbon mixtures.

Good Fabricability: It can be readily formed, machined, and welded using matching filler metals such as Inconel 82/182/625 and standard techniques like GTAW, GMAW, and SMAW.
