Stainless steel 347H(UNS 34709) is an austenitic chromium-nickel stainless steel with titanium addition, which has good resistance to higher temperature and intergranular corrosion. Machining grade 347H stainless steel is slightly tougher than that of grade 304 steel. AISI 347H can be readily stamped, blanked, spun and drawn as it is quite tough and ductile.
Stainless steel 347H has higher amounts of carbon than standard 347, the “H” in 347H stands for “high carbon” content. Due to its higher carbon content, 347H stainless steel provides better stress rupture properties than the standard version, AISI 347H has increased tensile strength and creep resistance at elevated temperatures. It also offers excellent resistance to oxidation in intermittent service up to 1600F and continuous service up to 1700 degrees F.
