Material: Alloy 31, N08031, 1.4562
Alloy 31, also known as VDM Alloy 31, 1.4562, UNS grade N08031, is a new type of austenitic nickel-iron-chromium alloy containing 6.5% molybdenum and nitrogen. It has strong corrosion resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion, and is even better than traditional 6-Mo steel in many applications.

Alloy 31 Introduction：

Alloy 31, also known as VDM Alloy 31, 1.4562, UNS grade N08031, is a new type of austenitic nickel-iron-chromium alloy containing 6.5% molybdenum and nitrogen. It has strong corrosion resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion, and is even better than traditional 6-Mo steel in many applications. The 31 alloy was created by VDM Metals in Germany and fills the gap between austenitic high-alloy special stainless steel and nickel alloy.

  1. Excellent corrosion resistance in both acidic and alkaline environments.

  2. Excellent corrosion resistance in any high concentration of sulfuric acid.

  3. Excellent corrosion and erosion corrosion resistance in phosphoric acid media.

  4. Excellent localized and uniform corrosion resistance in chlorine dioxide bleach media.

  5. Excellent corrosion resistance in both reducing and oxidizing environments.

  6. Easy to process and weld.

  7. Certified for pressure vessels with wall temperatures between -196 and 427°C.

  8. VdTÜV certified for pressure vessels with operating temperatures from -196 to 550°C.

  9. ISO 15156/NACE MR 0175 certified for sour gas applications up to Class VI in the oil and gas industry.

  10. ASME certified for pressure vessels up to 427°C (800°F).
