AISI 316LN (UNS S31653) is a low carbon and nitrogen enhanced version of stainless steel 316. 316 alloys are more resistant to general corrosion and pitting/crevice corrosion than traditional chromium-nickel austenitic stainless steels such as 304. They also have higher creep, stress rupture and tensile strength at elevated temperatures. The nitrogen in AISI 316LN increases resistance to sensitization in some cases and also provides some solid solution hardening, increasing its minimum specified yield strength compared to 316L stainle
ss steel. Like 316 and 316L stainless steels, AISI 316LN alloys also resist general corrosion and pitting/crevice corrosion very well.
