Nickel 201(UNS N02201)is a commercially pure nickel alloy that offers excellent corrosion resistance, good mechanical properties, and high thermal and electrical conductivity. Nickel 201 consists of a minimum of 99.2% nickel. The high nickel content contributes to its superior corrosion resistance, making it highly resistant to a wide range of corrosive environments, including acids, alkaline solutions, and saltwater. It exhibits excellent resistance to both reducing and oxidizing conditions.
The Alloy 201 is wrought material and has less intergranular carbon when exposed to higher temperatures. This property avoids embrittlement after welding or high temperature applications. The Alloy 201 UNS N02201 alloy is resistant to alkalis. It is resistant to dry gases at room temperatures as well. Depending on certain environmental conditions and the concentration of solutions, it is also resistant to certain mineral acids. Designated as the Ni 2.4068, the alloy is used mostly in chemical and petrochemical industries. There are different standards, schedules and pressure classes of the Alloy 2.4068 material to make sure that the correct combinations of the properties are selected in any given product.
